Samsung’s 2020 flagship could be called the Galaxy S20
For years, Samsung’s Galaxy S-series has been following a sequential order where every year, its model number increases by one. This year it was the Galaxy S10, and last year it was the Galaxy S9, and by that logic, next year’s model should be known as the Galaxy S11, right?
Turns out Samsung has a different idea. According to a tweet by leakster Ice Universe, apparently Samsung is planning on naming its 2020 flagship smartphone the Galaxy S20, supposedly in honor of it being the year 2020. Ice Universe also suggests that this will be a “new beginning” for Samsung, although what exactly he means by that we’re not sure.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 (as it is now known as) will be announced in the early part of 2020. Samsung has yet to officially announce a launch date for the phone, but we expect that it will probably take place in the first quarter of the year.
Next year is 2020, and 20 is a new beginning.

Samsung changing up the naming of its smartphones shouldn’t come as a surprise. As time goes on, the number of models increases. Apple did something similar with its iPhone where they named the 2018 model the iPhone X, so for Samsung to do something similar makes sense.
