The Honor 9X Pro may not be on your radar in the U.S. since the company isn’t selling the phone here, but it is quite popular over in Europe and Asia. While the phone’s price tag would make you think that it’s a mid-range phone, Honor has packed in some impressive hardware, especially for its cameras.
The main camera includes a triple sensors setup, featuring a 48MP sensor for the main camera with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP secondary sensor with an f/2.4, 13mm ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the Honor 9X Pro comes with a 16MP pop-up selfie camera that allows the phone to feature an uninterrupted edge-to-edge display. The only real downside is that all the cameras are only capable of recording 1080p video at 30fps.
To give you an idea of what the camera and video quality from the Honor 9X Pro are like, we captured over 70 photos and videos using the phone’s various sensors. My initial impressions are fairly positive, but I’ll be providing more insights into the overall camera experience once I’ve compared the Honor 9X Pro to a few other devices.
