Photos of Samsung’s second-gen foldable smartphone show off its design and features

The successor to this year’s Samsung Galaxy Fold has been in the news quite a bit recently. While we’re seen renders of the phone’s design, a new leak has surfaced which finally gives real-world photos of the phone which show off its clamshell form factor.

Those who have seen the Motorola RAZR will immediately recognize the similarities between these two phones. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Fold which opens up into a miniature tablet, this second-generation foldable display smartphone using the flexible display technology to fold a regular-sized smartphone in half, making it easier to tuck away in your pocket or purse.

The images were shared by Wang Ben Hong on Weibo, showing off five different images of the Samsung foldable smartphone from different angles. While the Motorola RAZR features a boxy and angular body with a pronounced chin at the bottom, the design of this phone is a lot more sleek and rounded. Samsung has equipped it with a hole-punch front-facing camera, dual rear cameras and a minuscule display on the outside for showing the time.

What we still don’t know is if this new foldable display smartphone from Samsung will feature flagship specifications like the original Galaxy Fold. One report has claimed that Samsung’s second foldable smartphone could be 50% cheaper than the original, implying that Samsung could take Motorola’s approach and deliver a mid-range device so that the price point in much more appealing for the masses.
