When Google announced the Pixel 4 smartphone, one of the coolest features that debuted with the phone is the Google Recorder app. Now, recording apps aren’t exactly new and are more or less a staple when it comes to default apps, but what makes this particular app so awesome is that it not only records your voice, but it can also transcribe it in real-time.
If you’re a student that wants to record a lecture, or someone recording a meeting, then this can come in handy as it saves you time from having to transcribe it yourself. The good news is that if you do not own the Pixel 4 but want to get in on this pretty cool feature, you’ll be pleased to learn that the Google Recorder app is now available for older Pixel phones, so head on over to the Google Play Store if you’d like to get your hands on it.
We imagine that it should at the very least be compatible with the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, and the Pixel 3a. We cannot confirm compatibility with the Pixel 2 series or the original Pixel phones, so if you own either of these devices and the app works for you, do let us know in the comments down below!
So far reviews of the app have been excellent with many praising the ability for it to transcribe and take notes, so if this is something you’ve been wanting, it might be worth taking it for a spin.
