The first round of Stadia reviews have arrived!

Google’s Stadia is finally landing this week! Those who have pre-ordered the Stadia Founder’s Edition will be receiving their Stadia Controller and Chromecast Ultra in the mail this week, but the first reviews of the streaming gaming service are already here!

Overall, the first impressions of Stadia are mixed. As long as you have a good internet connection with download speeds of at least 30Mbps and a lot ping, the gaming experience seems to work just fine. That being said, some have reported minimal lag from time to time, especially while playing first-person shooters.

When it comes to Google’s promise of delivering the same gaming experience across TV, mobile phones and computers, Stadia nails it on the head. The only drawback right now is that users are required to connect the Stadia controller to their computer or Pixel smartphone with a cable in order to make that work, but that’s something Google should be able to resolve in the near future. One other minor annoyance is that Stadia doesn’t allow you to press game menus with your finger when playing on a smartphone, but mouse and keyboard input works as expected on a laptop or desktop computer.

We’ll be sharing our Stadia Experience with you later this week once our unit shows up. In the meantime, we recommend watching a few of the videos below to get a feel for the Stadia experience at launch.
