Google Nest & Youtube Services are down. Users are not happy.

0

11th November 2019 – Google Nest services appear to have encountered a major outage that prevents users accessing cameras and thermostat features within their smart home.

Users have taken to twitter to vent their frustration. Most Nest customers are locked out from logging into the app with some experiencing persistent notifications from the home and away feature as the app tries to access location information. Many have expressed that this is not the first time that Nest has let them down. As members of Google’s premium Nest Aware services perhaps a large amount of this frustration comes with some good justification.

The source or reason for the Nest blackout is as yet unknown, and there has been no official announcement from Google about a fix or timeline to recovery. Google however does have a good record of promptly fixing these kinds of errors. Have you been affected? Let us know in the comments.

On the same day, YouTube users are also experiencing wide spread panic as their channels appear to have been deleted or missing. It appears that the two situations are linked and could ultimately be Google turning things off then on again.
