Windows Insiders can now make and receive Android calls on their PCs

A few months ago during Samsung’s Unpacked event, Microsoft and Samsung announced a partnership of sorts where it would see Samsung install Microsoft’s Your Phone app on their Galaxy Note 10 devices. This basically mirrors Android text messages, notifications, and your smartphone’s entire screen on your PC.

The good news is that if you don’t own an Android device, you’ll be pleased to learn that Your Phone is now available for Windows Insiders where it is currently being tested out. All you need is an Android smartphone (doesn’t necessarily have to be by Samsung) running Android 7.0 Nougat or higher, and a Windows 10 PC with Bluetooth support.

You will also need to be part of Microsoft’s Windows 10 Insider program to take it for a test drive, but it will eventually be available for all Windows 10 users. Given that this is currently a beta of sorts, don’t expect to run perfectly as there will probably be a couple of bugs here and there, but it should still be good enough for you to make and receive Android calls from your Windows 10 PC.

While Microsoft might have lost the smartphone battle with its Windows Mobile platform, it seems that the company is finding ways to continue being relevant in the mobile scene with features like these. The company also recently announced its Surface Duo smartphone, making it the first Microsoft Surface branded smartphone.
