Another OnePlus ‘McLaren’ edition confirmed to be in the works

0

Back in 2018, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition, the company’s most powerful and expensive smartphone at that time. In case the recently launched OnePlus 7T isn’t up to scratch in your eyes, then you might be pleased to learn that OnePlus could be gearing up for a new McLaren edition.

This is according to a tweet by OnePlus CEO and founder Pete Lau, who shared an image on Twitter showing what looks like a box covered in carbon fiber and an orange accent around it. Tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee then replied by saying, “McLaren edition incoming” in which Lau seemed to confirm it in a response of his own, “incoming”.

At this point in time, not much is known about the new McLaren edition of the phone, but presumably it should be based on the recently launched OnePlus 7T but with possible upgraded specs. Given that the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition came with more RAM and faster charging times, it is possible that the same treatment could be given to this particular McLaren edition.

In any case, this is purely speculation at this point in time, so take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully OnePlus will have additional details for us soon.
