ZTE Axon 10 Pro delivers flagship specs at an astonishingly-low price

Flagship smartphones from the major brands have gotten really expensive these past two years, but we’ve also seen a good selection of smartphones with flagship specs pop up withing in the mid-range price segment. The new ZTE Axon 10 Pro is one such device, packing in 90% of the features that the $1,000 smartphones have while selling for a mere $550.

On paper, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro checks all the right boxes. The highlight of the phone is its 6.47” FHD+ flexible AMOLED display featuring an in-display fingerprint sensor and curved edges on all sides, protected with Gorilla Glass on the front and back of the phone. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on the base model or 12Gb of RAM and 256GB if you’re looking for an upgrade. Both versions come with microSD storage expansion, a 4,000 mAh battery, Quick Charge 4.0, Wireless Quick Charge 3 (something you rarely see on devices at this price point), a rear triple camera featuring a 48MP main sensor, 20MP sensor paired with a 125°wide angle lens and an 8MP telephoto lens and sensor combo for the last one. Up front, users will have a 20MP selfie camera which is housed in a fairly-small notch above the display.

The phone is available for pre-order starting today from ZTE’s website, Newegg and B&H Photo. As mentioned already, the phone’s base model is selling for $550, but you can upgrade to 12G of RAM and 256GB of storage for just $50 more.

We’re hoping to get our hands on the ZTE Axon 10 Pro in the coming weeks, but based on its specs, design and price, this phone looks to be an impressive alternative for those who don’t want to shell out $1,000 on a new Samsung device. In fact, you could pick up two of these phones for the same price as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.
