We’re sure that there are probably some of you who might be bummed by the fact that the 5G version of the OnePlus 7 Pro isn’t available stateside. It was an odd choice by OnePlus to skip the North American market for the 5G version of the phone, but if you’re a OnePlus fan who’d still like to see 5G come to North America, you could be in luck.
This is because according to a report from the Financial Times, it quotes OnePlus CEO Pete Lau who confirmed that the company has plans to launch a second 5G smartphone later this year, and that this particular handset will be finding its way to the US through a partnership with Sprint.
Details about the phone are scarce at this point in time, but it makes a lot of sense. This is because OnePlus typically releases at least two new smartphones a year, with the phone in the second half of the year being part of their “T” release, so it’s not a stretch to think that this phone could be it.
As for its specs, it’s really anyone’s guess at this point in time, but there is a good chance we could be looking at your typical flagship specs, such as the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset. Lau stated that the phone will most likely come in Q4 2019, which means that we still have a bit of waiting to do, so if you think you can hold off on buying a new phone, this could be a phone worth waiting for.
