Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 could be borrowing some Apple Watch features

When it comes to smartwatches, it’s hard to deny the fact that Apple is currently killing it with the Apple Watch. This is thanks to features like a built-in ECG monitoring tool and also fall detection, all of which have been attributed to saving many lives in the past. The good news is that if you don’t want to buy into the Apple ecosystem, perhaps Samsung could be worth keeping an eye out for.

This is because, in a report from SamMobile, they claim to have heard from their sources that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 could come with features borrowed from the Apple Watch, which includes ECG monitoring and also fall detection. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 will also be able to notify users if it detects anything is wrong with the wearer’s heart rate, like if it beating faster or slower than normal.

Other rumored specs of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 include how it will be offered in two sizes – 40mm and 44mm – and it will also continue to sport the same design as its predecessor, which also means that it will not come with a rotating bezel. This means that the changes will be mostly under the hood, so if you were expecting something very different, you might be disappointed.

In terms of a launch date, there is still no word on when that will be, but it has been speculated that it could very well launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, which has recently been confirmed for the 7th of August, 2019.
