Forget the Samsung Galaxy Fold, second-gen foldable smartphone already in the works

Samsung is currently fixing the problems that were discovered in the Galaxy Fold. The handset has yet to be released, but it seems that according to a report from Korean publication The Elec, the company could already be working on a second-gen model that will come with more features than its predecessor.

According to the report, and assuming it is accurate, the Galaxy Fold 2 could offer up a larger display of 8-inches. This is a slight step up from the original Galaxy Fold which came with a 7.29-inch display when unfolded, so bumping it up to 8-inches could help make it a better experience.

The report also goes on to add that the Galaxy Fold 2 could borrow some features from the Galaxy Note series, where it will come with S Pen stylus support. Whether or not it will come with its own S Pen remains was not mentioned. As for when this device is expected to be launched, the publication’s sources claim that it could be launched as early as December 2019 or early 2020.

Given that the first-gen Galaxy Fold has yet to be launched, this gives the phone a very short amount of time on the market before its successor is released. Samsung had previously stated that the phone is ready for a release, but we still don’t have any dates to look forward to yet.
