Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will be coming to AT&T, but there’s a catch
The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is one of the few commercially available 5G smartphones at the moment, and as such, we imagine that the phone will be pretty popular amongst early adopters. If you fancy yourself an early adopter, you might be pleased to learn that AT&T has announced that the 5G variant of the Galaxy S10 will be launching on its network come 17th of June, 2019.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, there is a bit of a catch. This is because while the phone will be available on its network, it seems that the carrier will only be selling the phone for its Business customers and also developers who are interested in AT&T’s development program. This means that if you’re just a regular customer looking to hop onto the 5G bandwagon, you might have to wait a bit until it is your turn.
Instead, non-business customers will have to “settle” for the non-5G version of the Galaxy S10, although this isn’t necessarily a bad thing since the Galaxy S10 is a pretty solid handset. This move by AT&T shouldn’t be a surprise either as given that 5G is still in the early stages of rollout, limited availability is kind of to be expected. We imagine that over time this should improve, but it is a bummer for early adopters who want to stay on the bleeding edge of technology.
