We reported recently that OnePlus took to its forums acknowledging the feedback received from the community and promised an update would be pushed to improve the camera quality. It looks like that update is now hitting OnePlus 7 Pro devices and also brings several system performance improvements too.
The changelog makes reference to the improved HDR quality and low light performance as touched on in the forum post and also includes some fixes for the white balance and some focus issues, which OnePlus seems to have identified as being impacted across its AI scene detection.
- System
- Optimized Double Tap to Wake and Ambient Display
- Fixed an issue that causes an audio delay with the Bluetooth headset when playing games
- General bug fixes and improvements
- Camera
- Improved image quality in HDR scenarios
- Improved image quality in low light
- Fixed white balance issue in several scenarios
- Fixed focus issue in several scenarios
While the OnePlus 7 Pro is receiving a ton of praise as being an excellent all-round device given the price point, a consistent underperformer that yields less than impressive results is the camera, which has some way to go in order to compete with the likes of the Pixel 3 and Galaxy S10. The update is currently rolling out in Canada right now and will likely expand to other regions over the next few days. You can, of course, always utilize a VPN to accelerate the update to your device. Be sure to feedback any issues to the OnePlus Forums since as we’ve seen, the company is clearly listening to its users.
