These days a lot of the emphasis placed on phones is its design, and it makes a lot of sense. After all, design is the first thing that we see and if we want to live with our phones everyday, it better look good! At the same time, there are some who might prioritize function over form.
If you think that describes you, then you might be interested to learn that Samsung could have a new Galaxy Xcover smartphone in the works. This is according a recent sighting on the WiFi Alliance’s website where a Samsung handset with the model number SM-G398F was spotted. For context, the Galaxy Xcover 4 had the model number SM-G389F, so it stands to reason that this could be its successor.
Not to mention, it was last year when WinFuture.de’s Roland Quandt shared an image of what he claimed was the Xcover 5, suggesting that the phone could have been in the works for a while now. As for its specs, not much is known but the leaked image did hint at a single rear-facing camera.
Chances are that with this being an Xcover smartphone, it will probably come with the usual rugged features such as being shock resistant, along with water and dust resistance. With the handset having recently been certified by the WiFi Alliance, hopefully this means that we can look forward to some kind of official announcement in the near future.
