The OnePlus 7 Pro has a very good camera, good enough, in fact, to claim a podium spot in the DxOMark rankings, but there is definitely room for improvement. It would appear OnePlus would agree and has taken to its forums to advise an update is on its way that will make photos look even better.
While OnePlus has stepped up its camera game with the 3x telephoto lens, wide-angle lens, and 48-megapixel main shooter, the OnePlus 7 Pro still has a way to go to compete with the likes of the Galaxy S10.
On its forums, OxygenOS Product Manager responded to users criticizing the camera performance of the device by reassuring them that the camera performance of the OnePlus 7 Pro is being continually worked on. In fact, it seems to be the focus of the next update heading to the device and will make the camera even better with major improvements to HDR processing and Nightscape 2.0 mode. The update is expected to arrive as early as next week with OnePlus suggesting even more features are in the works during an AMA on the OnePlus Forums.
The camera team have been working all the time on analyzing and fixing issues. Every system update contains code from camera of improving the camera quality. I believe some of you receive an update when you got your OnePlus 7 Pro. That’s a significant update for camera and I think you don’t want to miss it. Moreover, we are working on the next update which is going to be rolled out in a week or so. This update contains improvement on the HDR effect and Nightscape mode, and more tweaks based on some feedbacks from you and reviewers. From our test, photos look substantially better.
It seems that OnePlus is continually monitoring user feedback and community requests for performance improvements are actually being taken seriously and considered in driving OxygenOS development forward. Other OEM’s, take note.
