Nokia announces impressive X71 for Asian market

Nokia is on fire with its budget devices thanks to the quality and value the brand presents, and now the company is launching yet another budget phone. This time it’s for the Asian market, launching in Taiwan and spreading shortly after.

The Nokia X71 features a 6.39-inch bezelless display with a tidy little hole punch, a Snapdragon 660 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage with a microSD slot, a triple camera setup, and a 3,500 mAh battery. These specs aren’t exactly high end, but they’re not too far off.

This triple camera setup features a 48MP main sensor and a 16MP ultrawide angle lens (which is a lot more useful than a zoom lens in our opinion). There’s also a 5MP depth sensor for that sweet bokeh, so no fancy Galaxy S10 array here.

These specs bring the phone up to near flagship levels, including that nice display lacking any bezels. The device is launching in Taiwan on April 10 for a mere 11,900 NT (or around $386 USD), which is frankly really impressive for the specs you’re getting. This paired with stock Android should make for a great little device. There are no plans to bring it outside of Asia but we hope to see it in the US at some point!
