There’s typically a new major Android flagship smartphone released every month. While these new devices are packed with incredible features and new tech, each new release seems to cost more than the previous one. Smartphones now cost upwards of $1,000 if you’re looking for the best of the best.

The good news is that you can save quite a bit of money if you’re willing to wait a bit and buy a second-hand device. Used devices typically sell for less than 50% of their original purchase price once they hit the 12-month mark. If you’re willing to buy even older devices, the saving increase even more! While there are a lot of places on the web to buy and sell used smartphones, my favorite is Swappa. The site offers buyer and seller protection, device verification and even tracks the sale prices over time so that you know you’re getting a good deal.
