Android 9.0 Pie rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy Note FE
A couple of years ago, Samsung launched the Galaxy Note FE. For those who are unfamiliar, the Galaxy Note FE is basically the “fixed” version of the Galaxy Note 7 which gained notoriety for exploding and catching on fire. The handset was recalled in its entirety which Samsung later re-released as the Galaxy Note FE (“Fan Edition”).
Now we’re not sure how many would have rushed out to buy the phone especially on the heels of news about the Galaxy Note 7 exploding, but in case you do own the phone, you’ll be pleased to learn that Samsung has started to push out the Android 9.0 Pie update for the handset.
This will include all the changes and improvements that one might be able to expect from the Android 9.0 Pie update, along with the security patch for the month of March. The update weighs in around 1.5GB so make sure you’re connected to WiFi and your phone is charging before commencing the download lest anything untoward happens mid-way.
The update’s rollout has been reported to have commenced in Saudi Arabia which means that it might be released at a later date depending on where you’re living, but the fact that it is being pushed out is a good sign. If you can’t wait for your phone to notify you of the update, you can always try to pull it manually by going to your phone’s Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.
