We’re just two weeks away from the Huawei P30 Pro launching and the device has dropped by AnTuTu for a customary benchmarking. While benchmark scores do not reflect real life performance, it does allow an early look at the confirmed specifications and a way of comparing devices against each other using a baseline test.
The Huawei P30 Pro carries the model number VOG-L29 and scored 286,152, which isolated is rather meaningless. However, when compared against the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, the P30 Pro falls short of the 307,059 achieved by that device and puts into perspective the capability of the P30 Pro. The AnTuTu benchmark tests the performance of the devices in four areas – memory, UX, CPU, and GPU, so gives a good all-round view of the performance. It’s worth mentioning that the benchmark would have run using pre-production software so could be subject to change upon release, which could affect the benchmark scores.
The benchmark reveals that the device is running Android 9, and is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor and Mali G76-MP10 GPU with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The P30 Pro will have a Full HD+ resolution (2340 x 1080) and a tall aspect ratio, as previous leaks have suggested. While it would be nice to see Huawei move towards a QHD or even 4k panel to rival the likes of the Galaxy S10, it seems Huawei is sticking to similar panel found on the Mate 20. Earlier leaks also peg the device as having an in-display fingerprint sensor as we’ve seen on the Mate 20 Pro.
While the benchmark results look promising, if you own a Mate 20 Pro already, it doesn’t look like you’ll be rushing out to buy the P30 Pro anytime soon.
