Samsung might have a flagship phone even cheaper than the Galaxy S10e

Last month Samsung officially announced their Galaxy S10 lineup of smartphones. One of the devices in the lineup is the Galaxy S10e, the more affordable model amongst the trio of handsets launched. It is priced at $750 which we wouldn’t exactly call cheap, but it is more affordable than the $1,000 price tag of the Galaxy S10+.

It turns out that Samsung could actually be working on a more affordable flagship that is allegedly cheaper than that of the Galaxy S10e. This is according to a tweet by Star Universe who claims that the company will be launching a “cost-effective” flagship smartphone later this year. It is also expected to sport a price tag lower than the Galaxy S series.

Exactly how much cheaper is unclear but in case $750 for the Galaxy S10e is still a bit too dear for you, then perhaps this rumored smartphone could be worth keeping an eye out for. We’re not sure if this handset will be part of the Galaxy S lineup or if it could be part of the Note series, so we’ll have to wait and find out, so it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now.

There is no mention of what kind of compromises Samsung would have to make to make the phone even cheaper. With the Galaxy S10e, Samsung opted to use a smaller and flat display versus the curved edges used on the Galaxy S10 and S10+. They also did not bother to include an in-display fingerprint sensor, and also gave the phone a dual camera setup instead of a triple camera.
