Huawei has confirmed that later this month, they will be officially launching their next-gen flagship smartphone, the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro. It turns out that the event could be more than just phones because in a report from WinFuture, it seems that Huawei could also be announcing some wearables in the form of a couple of new Huawei Watch GT models.
According to the report, these two models could be the Huawei Watch GT Active and the Huawei Watch GT Elegant, with their names pretty much giving it away in terms of what we can expect. The post also contained an alleged photo of the “Active” model, which for the most part looks like the current Huawei Watch GT except with some slight changes to the bezel’s design and also the hands on the watch.
Other than that, the report claims that the Active and Elegant models will continue to sport the same 1.39-inch OLED screen, although it could end up with a lithium-polymer battery instead of a lithium-ion one. We’re not sure what would prompt Huawei to use lithium-polymer versus lithium-ion, especially with the latter being pretty much an industry standard, but this is an unconfirmed rumor so it’s probably best taken with a grain of salt for now.
That being said apart from the names and the design, not much else is known about the two watches and what their differences are, but as we said, they are pegged for a launch alongside the P30 handsets which is scheduled for the 26th of March, so we should find out all the official details in the next couple of weeks.
