Amazon Fire TV Sticks and Cube discounted for the Oscars
Amazon’s various streaming devices are no strangers to discounts, but the Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Cube are all currently enjoying their largest price drops of 2019 to make sure you’ve got your streaming setup in order for the Academy Awards this weekend.
Fire TV Stick ($29.99, regularly $39.99)
Your least expensive ticket to streaming is the standard Fire TV Stick, which includes the Alexa Voice Remote, is marked down to $29.99, which is normally the price for the Alexa Voice Remote all by itself.
Fire TV Stick 4K ($39.99, regularly $49.99)
You’ll be stunned to hear that the primary upgrade here is the ability to stream 4K content, so if you currently have a 4K TV or are considering an upgrade in the near future than for just another $10 you’ll be future proof with support for 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, HDR, and HDR10+. Naturally, the Fire TV Stick 4K also includes the Alexa Voice Remote.
Fire TV Cube ($79.99, regularly $119.99)
The Fire TV Cube just debuted last Summer and it’s the heavy hitter in Amazon’s streaming lineup. It has a few notable advantages over it’s smaller siblings. The first is that it is essentially an Echo Dot, on top of it’s streaming duties, it has eight microphones which will allow you to control anything a standard Echo would along with your A/V equipment. There’s an onboard speaker as well, but again this is comparable to the Dot so it’s intended for you to get information from it, not as a soundbar replacement. The Fire TV Cube supports all of the same 4K standards as the Fire TV Stick 4K, but can also output 4K Ultra HD at 60fps. Again the Alexa Voice Remote is included in case you feel like pushing actual buttons to control your streaming device or if you feel like talking to your remote instead of the streaming box itself.
