Huawei’s newest smartwatch is finally available for pre-order in the US. Available through Amazon and Newegg, the Huawei Watch GT Classic is listed at $229.99 and the Huawei Watch GT Sport for $199.99.
While the hardware of the Huawei Watch GT is quite elegant and familiar, the software is quite unique. Rather than using Google’s WearOS, Huawei has equipped the Watch GT with its own operating system which allows the smartwatch to last over two weeks on a single charge while tracking your steps, heart rate and sleep patterns. It doesn’t support third-party apps (something we touched on yesterday) and its overall functionality is little more than a glorified fitness tracker with limited support for smartphone notifications, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
If you’re not sure if the Huawei Watch GT is right for you, you might want to wait for our full review later this week.
