Samsung releases Android Pie for some US carrier variants of the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9 duo

Samsung is pushing the latest version of Android to a bunch of US carrier devices today, and more are likely to come this week. The latest lucky ones are owners of the Galaxy Note 9 on AT&T and Sprint as well as the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ on AT&T.

All of these devices are now receiving Android Pie with Samsung’s new One UI on top. One UI is a major revamp of Samsung’s user interface to simplify interaction and make it “more natural” (Samsung’s words, not ours). It brings many of Pie’s features over as well as new ones like a system-wide dark mode.

The rollout for all of these devices is in stages, so don’t expect to see it immediately. Head to your settings to check for any system updates, and if you don’t see anything, know that it will come soon. And when it does, you’ll be downloading around 1.8GB so you may need a solid WiFi connection.

Any for those with modern Samsung devices still not receiving updates, they should be just around the corner. At least we hope, because Samsung’s update track record isn’t the best.
