Samsung is notoriously slow when it comes to bringing new software versions to its devices. The same can be said about Android Oreo and the Galaxy S8 lineup.
Despite these devices being unveiled a year ago, and it being more than 6 months since the release of Oreo, Samsung still has yet to really budge. However, it seems that the wait is finally over for some after T-Mobile and Sprint owners reported seeing updates arrive.
The update for the S8 carries a build number of G950USQU2CRB9, while the S8 Plus carries a build number of G955USQU2CRB9. The update not only brings Android 8.0 Oreo but also include Samsung Experience 9.0.
We aren’t sure whether Samsung is even testing an update to Android 8.1, or if Samsung devices will be stuck with 8.0. Nonetheless, the only carrier remaining on the list is AT&T, which has not shared any plans to update the Galaxy S8 lineup.
