LG’s next flagship phone, codename Judy, could be announced in June

We’ve heard rumors that LG wouldn’t be following their typical 12-month release cycle for their flagship smartphone this year — or that it may no longer carry their trademark “G” moniker like previous versions of the phone — but now we’re learning new details about the phone.

Popular leaker Evan Blass has revealed that LG’s upcoming flagship smartphone, which is currently going by the codename “Judy,” could be unveiled June, 2018. Judy is said to be carrying an entirely new design (unlike LG’s previous devices), coming with a 6.1-inch MLCD+ display that features a unique RGBW matrix. The extra white subpixel will reportedly help the phone sip battery life, using around 35% less power than standard IPS panels while achieving higher 800-nit brightness.

Other hardware specs include the following:

These all sounds like worthwhile upgrades from last year’s under-powered LG G6, providing anyone will still be interested once the Samsung Galaxy S9 is announced later this month.

Don’t forget that a June announcement means the phone may not actually be available for purchase until later this summer.
