MWC 2018 is just a couple of weeks away, and we are expecting Samsung to dominate the headlines as the company will unveil its 2018 flagship lineup with the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. However, Samsung’s decision to announce its devices at MWC 2018 reportedly pushed back plans for Huawei and LG to unveil new products at the event.
It seems that won’t necessarily be the case for Huawei, as a post on Weibo confirmed that the company will be unveiling a new lineup of products at MWC 2018. As expected, it’s unlikely that the company will unveil its latest flagship with the Huawei P20, but new devices will still be unveiled.
Further confirmation that we won’t see the latest Huawei flagship was provided by Huawei itself, after the company released press invitations for an event in Paris, which will be held on March 27th. The invitation states that “new flagship devices” will be unveiled, leaving Huawei’s budget and mid-range lineup to be shown off at MWC 2018.
Aside from new mid-range and budget smartphones, it’s also possible that we could see the successor to the Huawei Watch 2. Although this is purely speculation due to the fact that not much has been shared or leaked regarding a possible smartwatch launch at MWC 2018.
Nonetheless, it will still be nice to see Huawei’s presence at MWC 2018, even if we won’t be getting to see a device with triple rear-mounted cameras. Let us know whether you think Huawei could surprise everyone with an unnamed product, or if we will see some “run-of-the-mill” products announced.
