While most of the world is paying attention to the plethora of accessories and mid-range devices being announced at CES 2018, some of us are looking past this week and into the future. One of the biggest device launches of 2018 will be the LG G7, although that is unlikely to be the final name for LG’s 2017 flagship.
One of the biggest questions when it comes to the next LG device is regarding to the potential launch date. Rumors have been sporadic with some stating the device could be unveiled at CES, while others are pointing to Mobile World Congress next month.
However, it seems that neither of those options will be legitimate as a new rumor claims that LG won’t be launching the G7 until some time in March, with the device ready for primetime in April. This means that LG will be skipping MWC 2018 in Barcelona, due to the company’s new launch schedule for this year.
Other rumors for the G7 claim that it will follow a design similar to that of the LG V30, which features a bezel-less design, along with a dual-camera setup. We are also expecting to see the Snapdragon 845 chipset powering the device, but we could also see facial or iris recognition capabilities built-into the G7.
Now that 2018 is off to a hectic start, we are only a couple of months away from learning more about LG’s latest and greatest. Let us know what you think about this rumor and if you think LG releasing a device closer to Samsung is a good move.
