ASUS plans to launch the ZenFone Max Plus in the US next month

CES 2018 is underway, and we are already seeing a boatload of new devices, accessories, and more. Earlier, we heard about Honor’s plans to bring the Honor View 10 to the US, and now ASUS is planning to bring its latest mid-range offering to the US as well.

The ASUS ZenFone Max Plus may have a much longer name than necessary, but the device is rather impressive when you look at the specs. Sporting a 5.7-inch Full HD display, the Max Plus sports a “Full-View” display which means the device has an aspect ratio of 18:9.

Powering the ZenFone Max Plus is the MediaTek 6750T chipset, which will be coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The device also features rather impressive 4,130mAh battery, which will surely keep you chugging throughout the day.

As for the cameras, ASUS has included a 16MP front-facing camera, however, the real star of the show is the included Face Unlock capabilities. After Apple unveiled this technology with the iPhone X, we have seen more OEM’s jumping on board and ASUS is just the latest.

Moving to the rear cameras, there is a primary 16MP sensor and a secondary 8MP sensor, which have been placed above the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. What makes this secondary sensor so special is that this is actually a 120-degree wide-angle sensor, making it easier for you to capture as much of your subject as possible.

The ASUS ZenFone Max Plus will launch in the US sometime in February with a price tag of $229. The device will also be made available in two color options – Azure Silver and Deepsea Black. Let us know what you think about the ZenFone Max Plus and if you’re interested in its Face Unlock capabilities.
