While my colleague Joe loves checking out new applications and sharing them with everyone, I also love trying out new applications. This is especially true when a new app that was an iOS-exclusive makes its way to the Google Play Store.
One of the types of apps that I love to try out is email apps, as is evidenced by my review of Newton Mail for Android. However, another one of my favorite email apps from iOS will be making its way to Android sometime in 2018 – Spark Mail.
Readdle is the developer of some great iOS applications, and Spark is just another one of the lineup to make its way to the App Store. While the company has not explicitly stated that the Android version is coming, there are some subtle hints on the main landing page for Readdle, which ties into a tweet from the company back in April of earlier this year.
Good news! It's already in the works

So although it is disappointing to see that it has already been more than 6 months since this tweet was made, Readdle is likely hard at work on the Spark Mail app for Android. The company’s teaser on its “2017 Year In Review” shows the little Android bugdroid taking a ride on the paper airplane icon from the Spark application.
Hopefully, we’ll be hearing more information about the Spark Mail for Android application in the coming weeks, but until then I’ll continue using Newton for all of my email needs. Let us know what email apps you are using, and if you are interested to see a new option hit the Play Store.
