We have been seeing quite a few OEM’s roll out updates which include the update to Android Oreo, but now Motorola is getting in on the fun. Owners of the Moto Z2 Force on Verizon can now rejoice as the device is starting to see its update to Android 8.0 Oreo.
The official changelog doesn’t really share much, other than the following “enhancements”:
- Productivity – Launch apps or take action based on highlighted text
- Performance – Apps run faster and smoother
- Notifications – Now “Unread” badges will be on top of the home screen icons, long press to take action on them.
- Usability – redesigned emoji’s and all new call screens.
In addition to the aforementioned enhancements, the update rolling out also includes the November Android security patch. This may not make you super happy, but at least Motorola is working to keep its users secure as much as possible.
Now, remember that this is a rather hefty update, weighing in a little over 1GB, so you’ll want to make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi before downloading. And as always, be sure to do a backup of all of your important files before downloading and installing a major update.
Let us know if you’ve received the update to Oreo on your Moto Z2 Force and how it’s running for you.
