Bragi will showcase new context-aware earbuds at CES next year

With more and more phones shipping without a 3.5mm headphone jack these days, plenty of manufacturers have thrown their hats into the ring for wireless earbuds. Bragi has been at the forefront with their Bragi Dash wireless earbuds, which Joe reviewed right here on Phandroid.

Now the company is teasing something new to be shown at CES next year in partnership with Audio Analytic, a pioneer in sound recognition software. According to the announcement, Bragi’s latest hearables will use Audio Analytic’s technology to detect and recognize several different audio events so the device can respond intelligently.

The goal is to provide better hands-free use of smart devices without having to rely on cloud technology and internet connectivity to identify sounds. The demonstration at CES will showcase how Bragi’s Dash Pro earphones can intelligently recognize a conversation is underway and automatically alter the volume to accommodate. Audio Analytic says the software that’s being demonstrated can distinguish smoke and CO alarms, window glass breaking, dogs barking, and even a baby crying.
