HDR all the things! Chrome for Android is about to support HDR playback. The feature has been spotted in two recent updates for Chromium. Chrome will join YouTube and Netflix as video apps that already support HDR on Android.
If you’re unfamiliar with HDR, it stands for “high dynamic range.” What it does is increase the color and contrast significantly more than standard video. The result is a more realistic picture quality. There is one big catch to HDR: your phone has to support it. The good news is most recent flagship phones from Samsung, LG, and Sony support HDR.
Look out for the update to be coming soon. The entire internet of HDR videos will be at your fingertips.
