The smart speaker wars are really heating up. Amazon just announced 4 new Echo devices and Google is rumored to unveil some new Google Home devices next week. We already saw the Google Home Mini and there are rumors of a Google Home “Max.” Google could have another Home device up their sleeve.
A device codenamed “Manhattan” has a similar screen size to the Amazon Echo Show. The rumor claims that Google was planning to release the device in 2018, but with Amazon’s explosion of Echo devices, there’s pressure to release it sooner. Amazon is the clear king in the smart speaker space. They have more devices at more price points and Alexa is more powerful than Google Assistant.
