Samsung reportedly sells more than 270,000 Galaxy Note 8’s in the first weekend

0

Last week marked the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in several countries, including the US launch getting underway last Friday. The device is one of the most highly-anticipated releases of 2017 after seeing what happened with the Galaxy Note 7.

A new report has been released which suggests that sales for the Galaxy Note 7 have already crossed 270,000 units in the first weekend of availability. The news comes as no surprise as there were other reports suggesting that the Note 8 was breaking pre-order records.

In Samsung’s home country of South Korea, there were reportedly 200,000 new subscribers through the countries top 3 carriers on September 15th, then another 70,000 subscribers on September 16th. Compared to the first weekend of sales for the Galaxy S8 lineup, the estimated sales for the Note 8 outdo the Galaxy S8 by 10,000.

It’s good to see Samsung rebound so quickly from something as disastrous as the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, but it will be interesting to see how well sales hold up once the iPhone X is launched. Let us know what you think about this latest report and if you happened to pick up a Galaxy Note 8 for yourself.
