Amazon refreshes Fire HD 10 tablet with Full HD screen and more storage

The Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet line received a refresh this summer, but Amazon’s larger Fire HD 10 hasn’t been updated in nearly two years. It’s sorely due for one as the 1200 X 800 display just isn’t great when viewing high definition media like movies and comics. Amazon finally fixed that oversight with the latest refresh of the Amazon Fire HD 10.

The interesting thing about this update is that Amazon advertises the tablet as 1080p, but it has a resolution that’s slightly larger than that. I guess 1080p makes more sense to the average consumer.

Amazon Fire HD 10 Specs – 7th Generation

While this generation of Fire HD 10 is powered by a MediaTek processor, Amazon says it’s 30% more powerful than the one included on the previous generation of the Fire HD 10. The RAM has seen a bump up from 1GB to 2GB and Amazon’s stated 10-hour battery life is better than the 8-hour estimate for the previous tablet.

If you’re interested in picking up one of these, they’ll be available on October 11 for $149.99 for a 32GB tablet with Amazon’s special offers. You’ll pay an extra $40 if you want to increase your internal storage up to 64GB and the special offers can be removed for a one-time fee of $15 even after you buy the version that features them. If you want to snag one of these new tablets before they go on sale, you can pre-order by hitting the button below.
