Almost exactly a year ago, the Xiaomi Mi Mix arrived on the scene with ridiculously small bezels. You could argue that the Mi Mix kicked off the trend of small bezels that we’ve seen on the LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S8, and other devices. Xiaomi is back with the Mi Mix 2 and they’ve included some important improvements.
The Mi Mix 2 is slightly smaller than its predecessor. The 6.4-inch display has been shrunk down to 5.9-inches, and the display is 18:9 instead of 17:9. The entire size of the phone is exactly 11.9% smaller. Xiaomi has managed to get the bezels even smaller by reducing the size of the chin.
In terms of specs, we’re looking at the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, 6 or 8GB of RAM, 64/128/256GB of storage. 3,400 mAh battery, 12MP camera, fingerprint scanner, Quick Charge 3.0, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The standard 6GB model has a ceramic back with an aluminum frame. The 8GB Special Edition is ceramic unibody. The phone probably won’t come to the U.S., but it does have bands to work here. Pricing starts around $500 and goes up to $700.
