Nokia 5 gets September security patch before the Pixel

0

A lot of people are skeptical about the new Nokia Android devices. They aren’t really made by Nokia anymore and most of them are just cheap low end phones. They grab attention because of that “Nokia” name, but are they actually good phones? Well, they’ve beaten the Pixel to the punch in at least one area.

The Nokia 5 is currently getting Google’s latest security patch for the month of September. We’re only a week into the month and Google’s own Pixel devices haven’t received the update yet. That’s pretty impressive for a low-end phone, but it shows HMD Global’s commitment to update the Nokia devices. We’re inclined to believe them when they say all devices will get Oreo.

Does this fast update give you more confidence in the Nokia Android phones? Would you consider buying one of these devices?

Ever since I flipped open my first phone I've been obsessed with the devices. I've dabbled in other platforms, but Android is where I feel most at home.
