7 Apps to dominate the Fantasy Football season and bring that championship home

We are rapidly approaching the kick off for the 2017 NFL Season and that means that FANTASY FOOTBALL is returning. However, before you can jump right into the season, you’ll need to make sure that you have all of the information possible about the draft so that you know who to draft and when. Then, once the draft is over, you’ll need to be able to manage your team over the course of the season.

We’ve compiled a list of some of the best applications to help you through the season, as well as a few apps that will help you draft the most dominant team.

ESPN Fantasy Sports

ESPN is the mac-daddy of managing your Fantasy sports teams as there is an option for not only Fantasy Football, but also Baseball, Basketball, and more. However, as someone who has been using ESPN for the better part of the last decade, this app is still the best option in my opinion.

Whether you’re gearing up for the draft and need to keep track of all of the news, or if you want to use the mobile app while you’re drafting, the ESPN app does it all. In fact, in the days leading up to your draft, you can even do some quick mock drafts so that you get a better idea of who you should draft.

As you would expect by now, the ESPN Fantasy Sports app is still completely free, and you can download it via the button below.

Sleeperbot

This is one of my favorite apps of all time. If you’re as deep into the world of Fantasy Football as I am, then you know how important it is to get some real-time opinions. Sleeperbot does that and offers so much more while being a mainstay on your home screen and guiding you to a championship.

The app was recently updated with support for new groups, so now you can jump into a group dedicated to the likes of the Fantasy Footballers, but there’s also more additions. Starting with the 2017 season, you can even run your Fantasy league through Sleeperbot, and the championship winner will receive a ring to commemorate the occasion.

When it comes to keeping up with the news, Sleeperbot has everything you need, and you can either ask for some advice or offer to help someone else looking for answers. Best of all, Sleeperbot is completely FREE and you can download it via the button below.

Draft Punk

The next few apps look to help you dominate your draft in the literal sense, as they are draft companion applications. Kicking off these companions is Draft Punk. This is an app that has flown under the radar for me and then I decided to give it another shot after Phandroid’s own Joe Fedewa recommended it to me.

From the app, you can not only insert picks as they are happening, but there are also a few different options to help you do some research before and during the draft. First of all, you’ll want to get a good idea of where others are picking players, and that’s where the Mock Draft feature comes in handy. I can’t tell you how many times I used this ahead of my last draft, but it definitely helped me prepare for the big day.

From there, you can access a few different pieces of research such as general news, while also being able to view each teams depth chart, or viewing players specifically. Best of all, you can have this all for free, while there are some in-app purchases to unlock even more features.

Draft Wizard

Draft Wizard is the next draft companion that we recommend, and it comes from the folks over at FantasyPros. Over the last few years, FantasyPros has been increasing in popularity, and it’s about time that we get a great app to accompany us throughout our drafts.

In addition to simply acting as a guide throughout your draft, you can also perform custom mock drafts, allowing you to pick your spot in the draft so that you can properly draft without relying on computers to determine your fate. Additionally, while you’re working through the draft, you will see an “Expert Voting” percentage next to players, which aims to help you make the best pick possible without relying too much on your gut.

While other sites include cheat sheets, the Draft Wizard app allows you to either pick from pre-populated cheat sheets, or you can create one of your own, all from the app. Once your draft is completed, you’ll receive a draft grade, while showing you the strengths and weaknesses of your team, and you can even get a “detailed analysis” to see what your team could do to improve.

Draft Dominator 2017

While the last two applications were initially free, this next app does come with a bit of a price tag. Priced at $4.99, Draft Dominator 2017 is one of the premier Fantasy Football apps if you’re trying to assemble the best team to either dethrone last year’s winner or repeat as champion.

With the built-in draft simulator, you can adjust specific league scoring settings to make sure that everything is accounted for before you make your next pick. When looking at a specific player, you are greeted with a plethora of information, including projections, bye week information, and more just at a glance.

Once your draft is completed, you’ll be taken to the Post Draft Analysis page, which breaks down each of your positions and gives them a percentage of strength, along with showing your bye weeks. Oh, and did we mention that Draft Dominator 2017 includes a tablet mode so that you aren’t limited to just your smartphone?

Draft Day 2017

If you’ve been paying attention to fantasy football over the last few years, you’ve likely heard of the Fantasy Footballers. These guys have loads of in-depth analysis via cheat sheets, articles, podcasts, and more. For 2017, the Footballers have released a new draft companion app with Draft Day 2017.

This app features all of the rankings and projections from the Footballers and includes in-depth analysis for the top 250 fantasy football players. As for the cheat sheets, you can simply drag and drop players to sort them accordingly, creating your very cheat sheet without relying on the same one that everyone else is using.

In addition to using your own cheat sheet, Draft Day 2017 also features a research section, which shows the most recent information to check out based on who you’re looking to draft. While this may not be as robust as the aforementioned Draft Dominator, it’s definitely a good start and you can download it for $3.99 via the button below.

Reddit

Reddit is absolutely a great source for just about any type of information that you’ll be seeking. We don’t recommend a specific app, but as long as you’re a Reddit member, you can pick your favorite app and follow specific subreddits to keep track of the action.

The Fantasy Football subreddit is aimed at, you guessed it, Fantasy Football. From weekly suggestions to questions about the status of various players, you’ll find a load of information hidden between the sidelines. For general NFL news, the NFL subreddit is a good place to be. This isn’t updated with as much Fantasy driven content, but will still be useful in your quest.
