This week has been quite an eventful one, leading off with the official launch of Android 8.0 Oreo. However, that has left many smartphone owners wondering when their OEM will release the update for their phone of choice.

Sometimes, we get lucky and an OEM makes an announcement shortly after the latest version of Android has launched, and that’s what happened with HTC. In a tweet, HTC confirmed that the update to Android 8.0 Oreo will be coming to the HTC U11 in Q4 2017. This means that you’re beautiful, shiny HTC U11 will get a dash of Oreo before the end of the year.
But HTC didn’t stop there, as the company also confirmed Oreo will be coming to the HTC U Ultra (which launched earlier this year) and last year’s flagship, the HTC 10. However, unlike the HTC U11, there was no specific mention of when the update would be coming to the U Ultra or HTC 10.
Hopefully, there aren’t a load of issues with OEM’s their devices to Android 8.0, as we see with the launch of Android Nougat. Nonetheless, HTC U11 owners can rejoice and begin the countdown to the latest version of Android.
