You can no longer swipe away Google Now cards
Google has been slowly revamping the Google Search app and the Google Now feed. Earlier today, we wrote about a new tabbed interface coming to the Google app. Most people seem to like that change, but another change isn’t getting quite the same response.
Google has removed the ability to swipe away cards when you’re done with it. This is something that has been a staple of Google Now cards since the beginning. A Google community manager explained that you now have to tap the three-dot menu icon and select “Done with this card.” People in the product forums aren’t too happy about it.
Admittedly, it does seem like a questionable move for Google. Swiping the cards away was a simple and natural-feeling gesture. Was there really a good reason to remove it? What do you think about this change?
