Report: The Galaxy Note 8 will come equipped with a Force Touch display

One of the biggest features of the iPhone lineup since the inception of the iPhone 6S has been its Force Touch capabilities. This allows users to apply different amounts of pressure to the display, and the device responding with a set of actions for each application.

With the ability to long press on icons, Google already integrated something similar with app shortcuts, but that doesn’t require a special display to be used, and it’s somewhat limited. Huawei integrated a Force Touch display into the Mate S, but its features were extremely limited.

It looks like the lack of Force Touch integration will soon be changing as a new report claims that Samsung will be implementing this feature into the Galaxy Note 8.

The force touch, also called 3-D touch, will use the same solution adopted for the current Galaxy S8 to replace all the functionality of a home button and open a hidden menu with shortcuts to different features.

We’re only a few weeks away from the official unveiling of the Galaxy Note 8, so let us know what you think about this latest rumor and if you’re excited for Samsung’s latest and greatest device.
