The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is official, folks. This rugged version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 offers a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, 12MP f/1.7 rear camera, an 8MP front camera, a 4,000mAh battery, and more.
Of course, all of that is packed inside a rugged exterior built to withstand a beating thanks to its MIL-STD-810G rating. That also means the shatter-resistant display can’t be curved, but we have a feeling there’s a sizable lot of you who might actually love that about it.
We’re not exactly sure how much this thing will be on tap for just yet, but pre-sales will commence tomorrow, August 8th. If all goes well, expect to have your phone in-hand August 11th.
PS: It sounds like non-AT&T customers will be able to snag one of these after a brief period of exclusivity, though we imagine this will only be relevant for those on GSM-based carriers such as T-Mobile.
