Late last year, we began seeing rumblings about the Meizu Pro 7, and how it would look to take on the Xiaomi Mi Mix when it comes to a bezel-less design. However, the latest leak for this device gives a look at the possibility of an extremely unique secondary display.
According to a series of new leaks, we can see a cutout for the display to be embedded into the rear of the device. This would be something that we have not seen in a smartphone, as previous secondary displays were embedded into the front of the device.
Thanks to a render that was shared, the secondary display would show basic information including the time, notifications, and the ability to act on these notifications. What’s also interesting about this leak is the placement of the camera setup. Instead of traditional placement in the center or top left-hand corner, the sensors would be included in the same module as the secondary display.
Other rumors for the Pro 7 suggest that we’ll see the Snapdragon 835 SoC powering the device, along with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The device is also expected to feature either 32GB or 64GB of storage and a dual rear camera setup.
With other devices such as the LG V20 and HTC U Ultra featuring secondary displays, this is an all-new take on the concept and one that could help spark some innovation in upcoming smartphones.
