If you don’t know, June is celebrated as Pride Month in many cities around the world, with parades and events taking place all month long across the globe. Google is making it easier to find those events.
The app will not only show you info about the event such as expected length, but also traffic reports and even parade routes. Other nearby Pride events will also be marked with a Pride icon, and those who want to avoid the noise can find detours and road closures, which the navigation element of Maps will take into account if a place you’re going somewhere Pride-less.
This functionality will be available in 35 major cities around the world, including San Francisco and Tel Aviv. We only know of those 2 places because of the screenshots being shown in Google’s Blog post, though, as the company hasn’t listed the full slate. Head into your Google Maps app to see if that applies to you.
