Let the tease begin! With June 20th pegged as OnePlus 5 day, we figured the company was about to start dropping nuggets of info out of the barn house as they’ve done so with each release before it.
It all begins with a full-on admission of the device’s expected design and dual-rear camera setup. The surprise was spoiled ahead of time so they figure they might as well, right?
Those cameras, by the way, were used to take an impressive low-light shot posted by the company’s own CEO.
They also decided to let loose word that we should expect improved audio recording capabilities on the OnePlus 5. They recorded concert footage with both a OnePlus 3 and a OnePlus 5 to show that the latter offers a lot less distortion.
We don’t know what to thank for the improvement — whether that be the audio processor, the microphone itself, or simple device design changes — but we’ll take it all the same.
The OnePlus 5 is shaping up to be a really mature smartphone that can live up to the flagship killer name OnePlus prematurely awarded themselves long ago. Sure, it looks a hell of a lot like an iPhone, but who cares? It looks hot and it should have the brains to match that brawn. Stay tuned for more details as June 20th approaches.
