Earlier today, Motorola introduced the all-new Moto Z2 Play, but the fun didn’t stop there. The biggest feature for the Moto Z lineup was the introduction of modularity with Moto Mods. So naturally, Motorola decided to announce a new lineup of Moto Mods for its new device.
Moto Style Shell with Wireless Charging
There are two all-new Moto Mods that haven’t been seen before, and we’ll start with the new Moto Style Shell. In addition to making your Moto Z2 Play look all classy while you’re out, this new Style Shell will actually allow you to wirelessly charge your device. This was a much-requested option when the original Moto Z lineup was announced, and it seems that Motorola and Lenovo listened to us.
Moto GamePad
The 2nd newest Moto Mod is for those gamers out there. The Moto GamePad turns your Moto Z2 Play into “handheld gaming console with a simple snap.”The GamePad features a 1,035mAh battery, making sure that you can keep playing while you’re on the go. Additionally, there are 2 control sticks, a d-pad, and 4 action buttons, providing a very familiar experience, especially if you’ve played with the Nintendo Switch.
Moto TurboPower Pack
Portable batteries are becoming increasingly popular, with more and more people keeping one with them on the go. With the new Moto TurboPower Pack, you should be able to get an extra day out of your Moto Z, but there’s some more fun here. Once your TurboPower Pack runs out of juice, you can plug it in and get 50% of capacity in just 20 minutes.
JBL Soundboost 2
Finally, JBL was included in the initial run of Moto Mods last year, and they are back with the Moto Z2 Play. The JBL Soundboost 2 hopes to keep the party bumping with 10 hours of playback ability built-in. Also returning is the ever-convenient kickstand so that you’ll be able to get the music going in the right direction without laying your display face-down.
All four of these Moto Mods will be launching later this summer across the globe. As for pricing, the Moto Style Shell with Wireless Charging is priced at $39.99, while the Moto TurboPower Pack, JBL SoundBoost 2, and Moto GamePad are all priced at $79.99.
