While we’re anxiously awaiting the arrival of our HTC U11 (it’s available now for pre-order and launching on June 9th), we’ve been keeping our eyes peeled for any additional bits of information regarding the phone and its top-of-the-line hardware. Today we came across some photos demonstrating the phone’s low light shooting capabilities thanks to a handful of sample photos someone uploaded to Flickr.
Now, normally we’d prepare for the worst in this situation. Because of their tiny sensors, smartphones are ill equipped to handle the challenging lighting conditions at night, but the HTC U11 passed with flying colors. We already know that DxOMark gave the HTC U11 its highest score ever, narrowly placing it above devices like the Samsung Galaxy S8, Apple iPhone 7, or even the Google Pixel.
Simply put, the low light photos are absolutely breathtaking. It’s hard to imagine these were shot with a smartphone, but the proof is in the pudding. Take a look for yourself below.
There are a ton more images located on the uploader’s Flickr album, so if you’d like to see a few more samples from Taipei, check it out here.
