Even the Samsung Galaxy S8’s camera can’t topple the Pixel at DxOMark
DxOMark has released their camera analysis for the Samsung Galaxy S8. The device scored an 88, which is pretty high for their standards and puts it in league with devices like the HTC 10, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and the Sony Xperia X Performance.
Unfortunately for Samsung, though, they weren’t able to pull off their annual record-breaking affair, with Pixel still being considered the best smartphone camera available in a phone right now with a score of 89.
We can’t figure out if that’s a huge credit to HTC and Google for improving in an area where they once struggled, or if that’s more a knock on Samsung’s inability to transcend current capabilities. After all, we saw some pretty ugly evidence of regression in our time with the camera sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S8.
Whatever the case may be, it’s still one of the best cameras you can have in a phone, but Samsung can no longer claim exclusive excellence in that category.
